The FordPass Connect app was last updated on January 31 and carries some new images inside that indicate that a remote parking feature is planned for the app. Some of these images are labeled “freeDrive” but it is uncertain if this is the name of the feature or just the associated imagery for the F-150 Lightning. The images can be found in numerous places in the app and seem to indicate that a user with their iPhone (and we have to assume that Android users will have the same capabilities) can “drive” their vehicle forward or backward into a parking spot.

There are some anomalies in this list but it will be immensely helpful for those of us who have yet to receive an order message from Ford. Here is the list as of 8:55 am Mountain, Feb 6, 2022:

Ford Motor Co. said Thursday it made $10 billion before interest and taxes in 2021. That's up about $7.5 billion from 2020 and shows how the automaker's bottom line fared during a year dominated by the global chip shortage and the increasing buzz around Ford's electric vehicle efforts encapsulated by solid demand for the Mustang Mach-E.

Ford is planning additional investment of up to $20 billion in building its electric vehicles, Bloomberg News reported on Tuesday. Ford Motor Company has moved to patent a magnetized pickup truck bed that could seriously change the way we move cargo. According to a series of USPTO documents first discovered by MC&T, FoMoCo is exploring several ways to secure bed loads using magnetization. The documents detail embedding a set of magnets within the truck bed that could be used to create a magnetic field that would not only change the level of magnetic force applied but also be capable of rotating and moving relative to each other in order to create a magnetic field that encompasses the entire bed floor or just sections of it.

Ford has decided to launch a new pilot program alongside the Sonoma County Winegrowers, in a bid to send multiple Ford F-150 Lightning Pro pickups, E-Transit cargo vans and other Ford Pro Intelligence products to three farms in Northern California’s Sonoma County. The pilot program is launching with Bevill Vineyard Management and Vino Farms in Healdsburg, as well as the Dutton Ranch in Sebastopol, which together represent about 4,000 acres in Russian River Valley. By the way, that right there is the real Dutton Ranch (more of a namesake), as opposed to the one John Dutton runs on TV in the fictional world of Yellowstone.
