Hello all, it looks like we may see a new set of reservation to order emails going out in April now that that March 31 deadline has passed. Many of the people who were invited to order who either did not place an order or opted to extend the reservation to the 2023 model due to desired trim levels not being available year may have freed up a number of slots to existing reservation holders for the 2022 model year. Here is a good video on the topic:
KOCAELI, TURKEY, April 7, 2022 – Ford Pro is now shipping the first production units of its all-electric E-Transit van to customers across Europe from the Ford Otosan factory in Kocaeli, Turkey, a milestone that closely follows the start of deliveries to U.S. customers from Kansas City Assembly Plant in February. This landmark moment was celebrated today at the Gölcük plant, in a ceremony involving Turkish government representatives, investors, employees and media. Following strong early demand for E-Transit from European businesses – with over 5,000 customer orders received before vehicles roll off the assembly line – Ford Otosan is now moving to full mass production. “Ford Otosan’s Kocaeli plant is the heart of Transit production in...
DEARBORN, MI, April 5, 2022 – A fully-electric truck that is helping change the future of Ford Motor Company will be on track at Martinsville Speedway as the 2022 F-150 Lightning makes its debut as a pace vehicle for the NASCAR Cup Series on April 9. Lightning received nearly 200,000 reservations since being unveiled last May and is part of a growing EV portfolio for Ford that includes the Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit. “Ford is fully invested in electrification and the response to Lightning has been so overwhelming that it was an easy decision to bring it to a NASCAR event,” said Jeannee Kirkaldy, motorsports marketing manager, Ford Performance. “One thing we definitely know is that our fans love trucks and we’re confident that...
Whether hauling snowmobiles to the cabin in the dead of winter or the pontoon to the lake in the dogdays of summer, the 2022 F-150® Lightning™ is tested to have customers covered. To help prove it, Ford engineers took the first all-electric F-Series to two of America’s toughest real-world towing routes during development – Davis Dam in the summer and TFLTruck’s Ike Gauntlet™ in the winter. Last month, Ford engineers took preproduction F-150 Lightnings to what some call the world’s toughest towing test — TFLtruck’s Ike Gauntlet™ towing test — with windchills registering below zero degrees Fahrenheit. The Ike Gauntlet is an 8-mile stretch of I-70 in Colorado that ascends at a 7% incline to a maximum elevation of 11,158-ft. above sea...
REDFORD, Mich., Mar. 16, 2022 – At Ford’s Advanced Manufacturing Center, Javier is tasked with operating the 3D printers completely on his own. He is always on time, very precise in his movements, and he works most of the day – taking only a short break to charge up. This innovative robot on wheels from supplier KUKA, called Javier by Ford’s additive manufacturing operators, is integral to the company’s development of an industry-first process to operate 3D Carbon printers with an autonomous mobile robot rather than a fixed, stationary unit. “This new process has the ability to change the way we use robotics in our manufacturing facilities,” said Jason Ryska, director, global manufacturing technology development. “Not only does it...
In Ford’s efforts to continuously improve over time, some F-150 Lightning customers will benefit from an increase in range ahead of launch this spring. The all-new, all-electric F-150 Lightning has completed final EPA testing. F-150 Lightning XLT and Lariat trims with the extended range battery take you an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles while the F-150 Lightning Platinum has an EPA-estimated range of 300 miles. Fleet customers have the option to purchase the extended range battery on Lightning Pro and that has an EPA-estimated range of 320 miles. According to the lyrics of a well known song, “Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.” The Moroney stickers for various Ford F-150 Lighting models were posted by Reddit user vandy1981. What the source of the photos posted is not revealed, Jim Farley hasn’t returned our calls, and the accuracy of the photos cannot be independently verified (they sure look authentic, though), so guide yourself accordingly. (Editor’s note: the VINs shown seem legit.) The first is for the base version, the one that is supposedly for fleet customers only. Whether an individual can order one is unclear at this moment. Notice it lists for $41,669, including transportation and has an EPA range of 230 miles – precisely what Ford predicted. It...
